Gosh, I'm so glad this is over. Today was the last day of this mini NaNoWriMo! *celebration dance* The last two weeks were... hazy? crazy? hectic? One thing is sure: people doing NaNoWriMo have no toddlers. Or they have a partner taking care of the kids all day and all night long. Or they themselves cut down on sleep to get some writing done. Or, and I admire them for it, they're able to truly word-vomit, which my perfectionist's mind refused to do. Done today:
More reflexion about my MC's divorce. Decided to make her spouse petty when angry. Truth is, I haven't thought enough about how to show their decaying marriage. I don't want the spouse to be the bad guy, but I need him to be imperfect. Otherwise she is the bad guy, because she starts an emotional affair. Urgh, the line to walk is so thin. In progress:
Wrapping up the morning after. About to describe the afternoon alone and foreshadow how she'll meet her love interest. Today's word count: 183 Total word count: 7263 I went over 7k, which represents a third of the aimed 21k. However, my usual speed is 1500-2500 words a week. All in all, I've managed 2k to 4k more than with my usual writing sessions. Of course, the quality is subpar; I've written down some scenes and dialogues that I would've scratched off in a heartbeat (I edit while I write). It's past 4pm here, as I post this last article of the Mini NaNo series. I've no idea if someone actually followed my blabbering, but if you did, thank you for bearing with me the past 14 days. Cheers, Monica
