As I struggled with His summary, I realized my male characters lack flesh. Sure, I give them a quirk or two, but never did I stop to ask where they came from and what they wanted.
I hope this novel will be the occasion to improve at character development.
1) Name: Aymeric Kang
Aymeric is a French name, very popular during medieval times, that means "head of the family". I hope Lorelei and Aymeric will bond over their peculiar names.
2) One-sentence summary: Aymeric must reveal to the world he's a world-famous (but masked) singer, but first, he must disclose his passion for music to his traditional Asian family.
3) Motivation (what they want abstractly): His father to be proud of him and to accept he doesn't want to work in IT
4) Goal (what they want concretely): Become a real, signed singer; his parents to come to a concert
5) Conflict (what prevents them from reaching their goal): Aymeric must overcome his shyness and accept that being under the spotlights is part of a singer's job
6) Epiphany (how they'll learn/change): An impostor will pretend to be the voice
7) One-paragraph summary: Aymeric is an IT student, splitting his free time between gaming and singing anonymously. When his videos become viral, he must decide if music is a hobbie or a passion. He opens up about this dilemma with an internet buddie, and after meeting her, sees how her career choices didn't bring her solace. An imposter pretends to be the voice behind the videos, and Aymeric cannot bear to see his songs stolen. He reveals his identity to the world on live television, admitting he wants a career in music.
